Ride to the Rally

About the Ride

The Evergreen Ride to the Rally is a police-escorted motorcycle Poker Run ending a block away from the Legendary Lone Star Rally in Galveston at a private party. The Ride was first started in 2004 to raise money for local charities that support and encourage the importance of higher education in our children’s lives. It has since grown every year along with its impact and focus on our community. Thanks to our wonderful sponsors, each dollar donated as a part of the registration goes directly toward helping our chosen local charities and organizations. The Ride is so much more than just a motorcycle ride but a chance for us to come together and make an impact on our children’s lives in a positive and meaningful way.

Past Causes

Since the inception of The Evergreen Ride to the Rally and its first dollar donated, it’s intent was to bring positive change and help foster an environment that encourages and motivates our children to strive for and achieve higher education. We like to work with local charities and organizations that are like minded and align with our core beliefs. It is important for us to see real change and progress in our children’s lives so that we know our efforts are making a difference.

Bay Area Chapter of the Boys Scouts of America

The Bay Area Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America helps shape our youth into adults who know the value of hard work, accountability, and servant leadership. The Boy Scouts help shape our children by teaching them the values and ethics that we believe are important to molding our children into successful, motivated, and self-reliant adults.

We were a major contributor to The Jon & Jacqueline Hodges Health & Education Center at Camp Karankawa in Sweeny, Texas which is used as a learning center for Ecology, Environmental Science and Nature study among other areas. Camp Karankawa supports over 11,000 youths annually and serves as an excellent environment for each to share their enthusiasm for learning.

It was our honor to be presented the Leadership award in 2016 and the Bay Area Council Golden Eagle award in 2012. We have supported the Bay Area Chapter since 2006 and are extremely proud of the positive impact we have had the opportunity to impart on their organization.

FFA Programs

Local FFA (Future Farmers of America) Programs promote core values that are consistent with hard work, dedication and perseverance to our youth. These programs are strong supporters of education through guidance and scholarships. We have been supporting local programs such as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Galveston County Fair & Rodeo and the CCISD Livestock Show & Auction as auction buyers and as members of the HLSR Swine Committee.

We have been Champion livestock buyers with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo since 2004 and are honored to be recognized as Silver Spur Contributors since 2007.

Project Joy and Hope enhances the quality of life of children, and their families, who live with life-limiting conditions and is based in the greater Houston-Galveston area. Project Joy and Hope provides housing, assistance grants and scholarships among other benefits to ease and better the situations of these families.

We have been a major contributor and supporter of their HOPE housing initiative which provides a “home away from home” for children who have undergone a transplant or who need hospice care.

We have been proud to be supporters of Project Joy & Hope since 2011.

Keels & Wheels Concours d’ Elegance is a classic car and vintage wooden boat show held annually at the Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook, Texas. The event’s main purpose is to raise money for local charities; in particular the Boys and Girls Harbor. The mission of the Boys & Girls Harbor is to provide healthy, comprehensive care for children and families in crisis such as family hardship, neglect, abandonment or abuse.

Since 2004, we participate and help sponsor the annual Concours d’ Elegance Boat and Car show. We also help sponsor and support Keels & Wheel’s Uncorked event which serves as a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Harbor.

Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief

After realizing the devastation of Hurricane Harvey and its impact throughout the Texas Gulf Coast & Louisiana, we immediately sprang into action to help our affected Evergreen family. Overnight, we organized a fundraising and goods drive, ultimately raising around $80,000 and truck loads full of bottled water, non-perishable food, diapers, cleaning supplies and many other necessities.

After helping provide immediate short-term living arrangements, we were able to distribute about $50,000 among Evergreen employees to help repair their damaged homes.
